Wall St giants lifted by belief in US economy
 
Revived investor enthusiasm for bonds and growing confidence in the US economy has buoyed some of world's biggest financial groups.
 
On earning calls, bank executives said that consumers were slowing their discretionary spending but they saw no signs of significant economic stress. That is an indication the Federal Reserve may have been able to tackle inflation without triggering a recession, in a so-called soft landing.
 
With interest rates falling, investors are regaining confidence in bonds as a source of steady returns and an alternative to bank accounts as lenders start to cut the rates they pay on deposits.

My journey from renter to homeowner
 
10년 전에 건축 및 인테리어 디자이너인 Ben Pentreath는 10년 전에 렌트를 극찬하는 글을 기고해 놓고 지금은 왜 주택을 구매하는가에 대하여 
 
15년 간 렌트 하우스에서 꿈같은 생활, 5년 마다 약식으로 계약 연장해왔는데 2019년에  다시 요청했을 때 집주인이 더이상 장기 렌트하지 않기로 했다는 통보 받음, 그리고 집을 매물로 내놓음 
 
Of course, the first rule of being a tenant is that you must gladly accept this. It's not your house! 
 
10년 전 financial times에 장기 렌트 하우스를 극찬하는 글을 기고했을 때 사실 런던 아파트 구입을 위해 대출 받을 여력이 없었다고, 그 당시 자신의 생각은 어떻게 하면 세입자한테 이익을 얻어낼까가 아닌 장기적 안정적으로 임대를 주기를 원하는 사람 그리고 자신의 부동산을 잘 유지하여 community 기여하고자는 하는 임차인이라 생각해서 그랬다고

20년 전에는 집을 사도 대출을 받기 때문에 사실 자신의 castle은 대출 다 갚을 때까지 은행 소유이고, 이렇게 수많은 즐거움을 포기하고 돈의 대부분에 대출 갚는데 쓰기 싫었다고. 지금은 20년이 지나 최대한 적게 대출을 받고 자신만의 드림 하우스에. 계획했던 여행, 액티비비 등 많은 걸 포기했지만 지금 외딴 섬의 넓은 드림 하우스에서 행복하다고

--- 나는 지난 5년 간 아니 3년 아니 1년이라도 꾸준히 집중한게 있나? 그리고 이렇게 근본적인 질문 question을 가지고 있는가? 2020년부터 영어 공부 경제 공부 재테크 공부 세상 돌아가는 걸 파악하기 위해 financial times와 FT weekend를 꾸준히 사서 읽기는 했다. 그러나 이것도 취미 수준이지,  professional 급, fucosed 했다 말하기는 어렵...
